Sites are striking in all different ways, but they are united by this: do the biggest thing you possibly can and drive contacts to Congress. *Put the source code for this page your site* ~ it's my main page at Mountainair Online (the web page). I have no control over blog policies. I'm not really up to tinker with source code to show a black out page on my blogs. So I am settling for posting information and exhortations (like this one). Except for following #sopastrike on Twitter and @fightfortheftr) and Reddit, I'm staying off public pages today. No Facebook or

Personal blackouts seem to be running either 24 hours (midnight to midnight) or 8AM EST to 8PM EST. Major supporting sites like Wikipedia, WordPress, Google, Internet Archive (+ Wayback Machine), Electronic Frontier Foundation, Tucows and many, many more are striking for 24 hours. Looked like a major slow down on Facebook when I checked (before 8 am).

What can you do to support the strike if you don't have a blog or web page, can't blog and RT #sopastrike stories? Make a call; sign the petition; learn more; the action of the hour is to speak out. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper, opposing the bills. Contact local news stations and let them know that this is an issue worth covering. And there is still email, what they could be coming after next...

Interested in being on the Town Council? Know someone who ought to be? Two seats are open and only two candidates, George Immerwahr and Barbara Chung, have registered. Democracy means having a choice. Two candidates for two seats is apathy not choice. If you don't like or know enough about either one, what choice do you have? None.

Today is the deadline to register as a write in candidate. So how do you do that and what are the qualifications?

Call 847-2321, email townclerk@mountainairnm.gov or go to City Hall (open until 4:30 pm). Going in person would be better than either email or calling since the town has been less than vigorously proactive in maintaining an informed electorate (another indispensable part of democracy). Take responsibility for informing yourself, whether by research or asking questions. Do both.

Information relating to Forest Service sponsored meetings for vendors interested in providing resources to support wildfires and other emergency incidents:

The USDA Forest Service Southwestern Region is hosting a meeting for vendors interested in providing resources to support wildfires and other emergency incidents. The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 26, from 1:00p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Forest Service offices throughout New Mexico.

The meeting will discuss a variety of topics including:

How to become a government vendor
How to locate and respond to solicitations through the Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR) system
How to read and understand contract requirements for specific equipment

The Southwestern Region will be seeking competitive solicitation for the following items for FY2012:

Mobile laundry units
Potable and Gray water trucks/Trailer-mounted handwashing units
Portable toilets/Wheelchair accessible portable toilets/Portable handwash units
Fuel tenders
Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Apparatus (formerly Crash Rescue Trucks)
Miscellaneous Heavy Equipment (Feller bunchers/Masticators/Road graders/ Skidders)

#Mountainair Mentors Wanted

For students at the Mountainair Elementary School, which is fortunate enough to have 12 adults from our community who have been part of a highly successful mentoring program for the past year. Program coordinator Anne Ravenstone and principal Yvonne Zenga have been getting requests from teachers and parents for more mentors to expand this community-building endeavor.

I am hoping there are more of you out there who would like to help. The committment is one day a week for only 40 minutes (visiting and getting to know your child during their recess and lunch time - all of which they spend with you). The important thing is that you are consistent with visiting once a week (of course, there are times when you cannot come). What you provide for these children is a relationship with a responsible, caring adult which usually leads to helping them academically. If the relationship will grow further (field trips or visits to your home) will be up to the child's family and available time. If you are interested, please let me know and we will arrange for an orientation time at your convenience.

Teachers Needed for #Mountainair Arts After School Program

The Elementary After School Art program (Arts Afterschool) will be starting its next session of classes on February 6, 2012. The session lasts for 10 weeks and meets on Monday and Wednesday from 3:25-4:25 pm. Teachers can choose to teach either Monday or Wednesday or both days. The pay is $25 per hour/class.

Many of our teachers from the fall session are returning, but I am looking for a few teachers to replace those who have other commitments.

Apply to TEACH the ART AREA of your INTEREST/EXPERTISE. However, I need teachers in specific areas:

THEATRE ARTS for 3rd, 4th, 5th grades
PUPPETRY for 1st, 2nd grades
ANY ART MEDIUM for 1st, 2nd grades
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY for 3rd, 4th 5th grades

Special Board of Education Meeting about Vandalism against Mountainair Teachers

The Mountainair Public Schools Board is having a special meeting to discuss solutions to the recent break-ins and vandalism against teachers. The public meeting is on Tuesday, January 10 at 5 pm at Superintendent Jay Mortensen's Office, 512 North Ross Avenue (505-847-2333), which is behind the old white school building on North Summit Avenue (NM 55). Directions: From Broadway (NM 60) take NM 55 north, turn east on East Cedar Road, go one block, and then turn north on North Ross Avenue. The superintendent's office is at the end of the road.

The NMYA has 4 annual conferences and provides mileage reimbursement, meals and lodging for participating youth. The New Mexico Youth Alliance (NMYA) is a statewide youth council. NMYA is recruiting youth ages 14-24 who are interested in participating in civic engagement opportunities to create positive change for youth in their communities. The NMYA was established in 2003 and is a statewide advisory group comprised of youth representatives from all around New Mexico. NMYA is a project of the Children Youth and Families Department and is housed at the New Mexico Forum for Youth in Community, a non-profit organization which provides support to the Youth Alliance as well as its members and partnering organizations.

The NMYA hosts four annual conferences a year, where Youth Alliance members from all around New Mexico come together to work with other youth and participate in leadership workshops to expand their skills in promoting change in their communities. This phenomenal extracurricular opportunity will provide youth to understand the powerful role of youth voice and youth engagement to better support youth in New Mexico.

During our gatherings youth will have the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops to support them in being change agents in their communities. During the gatherings Youth Alliance members participate in learning experiences focused on team building, service learning, leadership, education, peer trainings, and much more.

We provide transportation support through mileage reimbursement as well as provide lodging and meals. Each conference has a specific topic based on feedback from youth participants. All gatherings are focused on the primary areas civic engagement, service learning, leadership development, and developing community impact projects to make a difference in their communities.

Why join? Youth Alliance members provide feedback and make recommendations to state law makers to create or refine youth policies to ensure youth have a meaningful voice in our state’s political process. It is also an opportunity to meet other youth around New Mexico that share similar projects and passions. Currently, members are implementing projects to address the following issues in their communities:

· Developing After School Programs

· Cultural Identity

· Alcohol Prevention

· Dropout Prevention

· Financial Literacy

· Teenage Dating Violence

· Poverty and Racism

· Suicide Prevention

· Teenage Pregnancy Prevention

· Youth Entrepreneurship

· Educational Opportunities for all Youth and many more

An election without announced candidates is passing strange. You might be wondering who is standing for election and what their positions are. So am I. Unfortunately, candidate information is unavailable at this time: the slate has not been announced or posted. Email requests for a copy of the slate to blog have not proven successful, not even acknowledged.

In practice, local Chamber elections tend to be an unopposed slate consisting of mostly the same board members and officers standing unopposed for the coming term with only one or two replacements. Nominations from the floor are a rarity. Dennis Fulfer, stepping down as treasurer, picked his replacement. Other changes are possible but would be speculation.

PSA: EVSWA Recycling Center Now Open in #Mountainair

This information flier came our way indirectly from EVSWA, which has no web site or email address that I have been able to find although surely it would have at least the latter. EVSWA is a relative newcomer to recycling and still learning too. Central Mountain News & Information posted more information here and here about managing your recyclables for the facility. If you have problems with the facility or communicating with EVSWA, you may wish to address your concerns to the granting (and presumably oversight) agency: Jesse Just, Outreach Specialist, New Mexico Recycling Coalition, 505.603.7338, jessi@recyclenewmexico.com

With the opening of the new recycling center at the Estancia Valley Solid Waste Authority (EVSWA) facility in Mountainair, there's no longer a need to drive your recyclables to another town – or worse, toss them out as regular trash.

Recyclable household materials now being collected at the "Southern" EVSWA center west of Mountainair at the 202 mile marker on Route 60 are:

aluminum cans;
corrugated cardboard and brown paper bags;
tin cans;
#1 plastic bottles;
#2 plastic bottles;
mixed paper, including newspaper, junk mail, office paper and magazines.

Each of these categories will have a separate bin at the collection facility. Please note that glass and "chipboard" cardboard containers (e.g., cereal boxes) are not currently being collected.

In addition, the center accepts other materials for recycling, such as motor oil, antifreeze, car/truck tires, tree branches, rechargeable batteries, electronics and scrap metal.

Residents of Mountainair who are not EVSWA customers are also encouraged to bring recyclables to the center, at no charge. The center is open Wednesdays, 7 a.m.-3 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

If you're not already doing your part to recycle, please consider that by recycling, you are saving energy and resources, creating jobs and participating in a valuable business. Recycling helps the environment by diverting recyclable materials from landfills and ensuring diverted materials are beneficially reused.

The rest is about your area media options and deadlines for posting and consuming area news and announcements. Republished, lightly edited, from July 26, 2011.

Sunday (back in July) I blogged publishing information for The Independent Newspaper (TIN). Leota Harriman wrote to Manzano Mountain Scribes,

If I get a final draft by Monday, I'll include it in those pages if space allows. Email it to me at leota@lobo.net. Here's the schedule, with deadlines for submissions being Monday for any given Wednesday's paper.

We welcome submissions for any of those pages as well as general interest stories or features for the paper.

TIN's weekly deadline is Monday (time not specified: email or call to double check), appearing Wednesdays. More further down the page, but now, in the interests of fair and comprehensive, read more about the rest of the area press, social media options and blogosphere.

The MountainView Telegraph's deadline, Thursday distribution, is Tuesdays, high noon. Print deadlines, "hold the presses" breaking news excepted, are non-negotiable. Not even heavy duty advertisers can expect more than limited slack. These deadlines are much closer than formerly when you had to get material in the previous week. Please note the "final draft" requirement. Both have complete publishing, deadline, advertising and contact information on their websites.

My deadline is when I get it and if I can turn it right around. If time sensitive material arrives to close to use by date and is not "publication ready," too bad. If less time sensitive and not requiring extensive work (formatting, copy editing, photo editing, file conversion, etc), it can wait. Procrastination works me... another perk of online. Extensive? Well that depends on how much I want to run the piece and what else is ahead of it. Attitude is the price you pay for free PR and advertising.

To submit repeating events to the Telegraph's Calendar: call toll free 24 hours, 7 days a week, (888) 920-6333. Calendar items may be submitted by e-mail to editor@mvtelegraph.com, fax to 823-7107 or by mail to Mountain View Telegraph, P.O. Box 2225, Moriarty, 87035-2225. Please include the name and phone number of a contact person.

Deadline for briefly noting (short 4W paragraph: description, times, location and contact information) calendar items for the Community Page, (Weekend and Coming Up) is Tuesday by noon.

Features:

The first Thursday of each month features Arts and Entertainment (i.e. art and cultural events, activities, music programs, art classes, exhibit openings, Mountain Arts on Broadway)
The second Thursday is Farm and Ranch (i.e. farmers markets, Mountainair Farm & Garden Market, community garden, extension workshops, Mountainair Gymkhana Rodeo - also under entertainment, stories about local ranches, SWCD)
The third Thursday is Business (Mountainair Chamber of Commerce, local entrepreneurs, new businesses, local business and economic development stories)
and the fourth Thursday is Religion (i.e.local church news, programs and activities, St Vincent de Paul, Divine Treasures, Community Chorus ~ also under Arts & Entertainment, 5th Sunday Sings)

You get the idea. Of course, a good story cooking or a special event coming up, can switch dates around.

Notice all sumission deadlines are Tuesday by noon. Letters and Guest Views, published every week, are also due then, although if you contact the editor, Rory McClanahan, ahead of time to let him know something is headed his way, he can wait a little longer. Obituaries are need by 2 pm on Wednesday. If you have a notion of a story along those lines, please feel free to contact Rory at editor@mvtelegraph.com.

Jungle Prescribe Burn

Planned for Mid-November

Mountainair, NM – November 15, 2011: Mountainair Ranger District Fire Officials are planning on continuing their Prescribed Burn program. Fire Officials have been monitoring weather conditions and fuel moisture conditions. With the current moisture levels they plan to complete the Jungle Prescribed Burn in the Manzano Mountains this week.

The burn will be on National Forest lands located East of Forest Road #422, North of Forest Road #275 and west of the Forest Road #522. District Fire personnel are watching weather patterns closely and hope to accomplish burning approximately 186 acres some time during the next week to two weeks. The purpose of the burn is to improve watershed and wildlife biodiversity as well as to reduce current fuel loadings and lessen the threat of wildfire to private property. The burn will be conducted only if fire personnel are available and weather patterns are conducive to burning.

Salt Missions Trail ~ open meetings to discuss plan for scenic byway and cultural corridor 6:00 pm tonight in Moriarty and the same time Thursday in Estancia. Check link for more details.

If you missed last Wednesday's Mountainair meeting, try to make one of these. Recently we heard that "everybody already knew everything" about the plan. ROTFL and only true if you accept the speaker's obvious premise that "everyone" refers not to everyone but to a limited and presumably select group. This project could and should involve not just a few self-selected groups, not even just Mountainair, but all the communities along the trail loop. The prospects are exciting. Stay tuned: we'll be writing more about them.

Background

The Salt Missions Trail Scenic Byway ( click here for map) runs along a historic, winding wagon road from the Village of Tijeras in the mountain pass east of Albuquerque, winds along the eastern slopes of the Manzano and Manzanita Mountains through the Spanish land grant towns and the Cibola National Forest, follows the prehistoric trade route of the Salinas Pueblo Missions, and past the abandoned railroad right-of-way along the edge of the Estancia Basin's salt lakes and prairie. It closes the loop by following a 24 mile segment of the major transcontinental highway, Historic Route 66, back to the Village of Tijeras. A 25-1/2 mile extension southward connects the Gran Quivera mission site.

The Salt Missions Trail was established as a New Mexico Scenic Byway in 1998 as a strategy for generating a sense of regional community, increasing opportunities for economic development, and spurring preservation of appropriate historic and cultural resources in the area. A Corridor Management Plan for the Byway was developed at that time, but the organization responsible for its development and implementation no longer exists.

In late 2010, MRCOG received a grant from the Federal Scenic Byway Program to update the 1998 Corridor Management Plan for the Salt Missions Trail Scenic Byway and to work with local communities to reestablish a Salt Missions Trail Scenic Byway Organization.

Donations Requested for #Mountainair School Mentor Program

As you may be aware, very likely know more than I do and are possibly already supporting the program, there is a Mentor Program at the Mountainair Elementary School The program was conceived, developed and initiated by Anne Ravenstone and is also supported by Manzano Mountain Mountain Art Council. Local art council members and Deer Canyon residents have been especially active supporting the program and as volunteer mentors. Participating Mentor Mari Cicola writes,

I am writing to let you know I am starting a campaign called SEED (Sow Exciting Educational Discoveries). On behalf of the mentoring program, we are accepting donations to be used by the principal and staff in the elementary school for items they identify as supporting fun learning ~ Battle of the Books, field trips, equipment, parties, etc.

Here is our first wish:

The Manzano Mountain Arts Council is bringing the National Dance Institute of New Mexico to the school in December for a week long residency culminating in a performance. 3rd -5th graders are involved in this and their "costume" is a NDI t-shirt (which they have to give back). It is possible to purchase the t-shirts for $10. Most kids can't afford it and we have to order ahead. Now, we are talking 62 kids..

I also know that many already support the arts council but I am hopeful we can grow a large and permanent fund for the kids. Please share this notice with anyone you feel would like to donate. Donations can be mailed to me

The UNM Staff Council Environs Committee and the Net Impact student group will conduct an electronic waste recycling event on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UNM’s “E” parking lot near Girard and Central NE.

Most discarded electronic equipment will be accepted, but there will be a $10 charge for television sets and a $5 charge for monitors. Acceptable items include all computers and computer related equipment such as monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, phones/cell phones, rechargeable batteries, satellite TV equipment, mice/keyboards and stereos and speakers. Unacceptable items include appliances, coffee machines, toaster ovens, bread machines, crock pots, hair dryers, irons, microwave ovens, electric heaters and alkaline batteries.

iCreate's Music Outreach program will hold its first #Mountainair recital Saturday October 29, 4 pm at Packs Cafe in the Shaffer Hotel. Performing in public is the final program completion requirement. Performances by students completing certificates include a solo by Wyatt Greene and a trio of five songs by students from the adult class. Depending on yesterday afternoon's lesson, additional students may join the recital playbill.

MES Fall Carnival will be on Friday October 28 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Activities include games,and cakewalk.

The Costume Contest has 3 categories: 0-5yrs , Kindergarten-Grade 2, and Grades 3-5. First, second and third will be awarded.

Donations of bingo prizes or baked goods for the cakewalk would be greatly appreciated. Our annual carnival raises funds for school activities. Come have fun, win a prize, take home a cake and support our school.

Community Garden Manager Joan Embree writes,

Gardeners, friends, and future gardeners

Saturday, Oct., 29 starting at 10 a.m., we will clean up the remnants of this year's "instant" community garden and lay out the beds for next spring's efforts. We will talk about expanding our efforts to include both more people and more territory. Also on the "agenda" will be whether or not to participate in this year's Arts and Crafts Fair and when to make a trip to visit the Rio Grande Community Farm in Albuquerque.

Bring gloves, shovels, and ideas. We can also use old straw bales, 5-gallon and up pots (no more cat litter boxes), and other donations. We now have access to both sheds outside the Art Center, so we can store garden goods we'll need for next year.

Is someone interested in starting seedlings for sale at next year's Farmers' Markets? We'd need to have a plan for that, too. Our tomato plants did very well this year, one way and another. Shall we try again?

Hope to see you for at least a little while on Saturday. The actual cleanup shouldn't take long, but we could do some digging and amending in the new beds we'll be laying out. This year, we'll be encouraging individuals and social, civic, and religious groups to "adopt-a-bed" and raise food for themselves or for the Mountainair Farm & Garden Market, or for those in need of food.

Offering Fuelwood Permits

Mountainair, NM – October 26, 2011: The Mountainair Ranger District will resume selling personal fuelwood permits beginning on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 8am. Permits will be a maximum/ minimum of 4 cords for $20 and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.

Citizens who bought permits during our first round of fuelwood sales will not be eligible to buy permits for the first 3 days as the demand for first time purchasers is too high. Permits will only be sold at the Mountainair Ranger District. A photo ID will be necessary and the public will not be allowed to buy permits for others. Mountainair, NM – October 26, 2011: Mountainair Ranger District Fire Officials are making plans for continuing their prescribed burn program (see: How to conduct a Prescribed Burn). Fire Officials have been monitoring weather conditions and fuel moisture conditions. With the current moisture levels, they plan to complete the Jungle Prescribed Burn in the Manzano Mountains within the next few weeks, possibly as early as next week.

The burn will be on National Forest lands located East of Forest Road #422, North of Forest Road #275 and west of the Forest Road #522. District Fire personnel are watching weather patterns closely and hope to accomplish burning approximately 186 acres sometime during the next week to two weeks. The purpose of the burn is to improve watershed and wildlife biodiversity as well as to reduce current fuel loadings and lessen the threat of wildfire to private property. The burn will be conducted only if fire personnel are available and weather patterns are conducive to burning.

Tribute to Mountainair: Call for Memorabilia & Community Participation

Art Center Seeks Mountainair Memorabilia

The Mountain Arts on Broadway (MAOB), an art center in Mountainair, is sponsoring a community art project in which it is asking area residents to contribute memorabilia that tell the town's history. Items such as old pictures which will be copied and then transferred to tiles; old tools or found objects; and interesting historic objects that can be securely cemented into a mosaic mural are greatly appreciated.

The painted and mosaic mural will have about 100 square feet of painted area and 60 square feet of mosaic area. The perspective of the mural would be historic and biographical with the overall design being a cosmogram (such as the design of sand paintings, mandalas, or the Aztec Calendar) which radiate from a central focus. As a symbolic interpretation of the greater Mountainair area, this cosmogram would have three principal areas:

The center space would be a view of the Manzano Mountains with eight surrounding images representing flora and fauna of the area.
Next, radiating from the center, would be a geometric pattern with images of local, cultural, and social importance, including the Salinas Pueblo Ruins, the railroad, ranching and farming activities, and multicultural symbols.
A large section surrounding the central images would be the biographical section which would use historic photos burned into tiles and embellished with found objects.

The mosaic will go on the East side of the "B Street" Market building located in the center of Mountainair. The project is funded by the Manzano Mountain Art Council (MMAC), parent organization of the Mountain Arts on Broadway which opened in May of 2011.

The mosaic has been designed by area artists and is being overseen by MMAC. It will be constructed by artists and volunteers every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm beginning in October and lasting several months. Location: Mountain Arts on Broadway, 122 East Broadway. KNME Launches ‘Raising Readers’ Initiative - UNM Today | The University of New Mexico

KNME, Channel 5, in conjunction with PBS, recently launched its Raising Readers initiative, a yearlong literacy campaign designed to help preschool children develop reading and literacy skills.

KNME will expose parents and caregivers to the “Raising Readers – Anytime is Learning Time” message. Their website features reading tips and activities as well as ways to use the popular programming of “Super Why” and “Martha Speaks” to raise reading readiness.

Just a short note to let you all know that the East Thunderbird Prescribed Burn that was conducted yesterday was fully successful. An area of approximately 70 acres was previously thinned. We were unable to complete this burn last winter due to the lack of moisture. We re-entered the area yesterday to burn the remaining slash. The burn met all objectives from improving wildlife habitat to lessening the threat of wildfire to private property. This is the first of several broadcast burns planned this fall and winter. We will be continuing to look for burning windows to continue with our prescribed burning program. More to follow…

Mountainair, NM – October 7, 2011: Fire officials on the Mountainair Ranger District have been monitoring fuel moisture conditions. Oops ~ Cibola Fall Show, Oct8 Opening, #Mountainair

For some reason, October 15 was stuck in my mind for the Cibola Arts Fall Show opening. (PS... it's OK to send me a reminder, really it is). I think the show runs through November but it's not on the flier or accompanying email message. By the time I realized that the opening was today and should have been included in this morning's Mountainair Arts Weekend Edition, the reception was already more than half over. Bad to worse when the flier image suffered from attachment disorder and then Picasa upload didn't. At any rate, anyone missing the opening, will still have ample time to catch the show. No program details to share either but still time too for Cibola to send a description or someone to review the show, either anonymously or with byline

Hi everyone! I will be giving some history, talking about the elements of modern dance that make it different from other dance forms but relate it to ALL art forms, and gently asking people to move doing some fun and enlightening activities!

For those of you who don't know me, my past life included 25 years as a professional dancer/ choreograph/ teacher in the Minneapolis area where I had my own non-profit dance school, worked as an artist-in-residence in the schools around the state, and was a member for 7 years of the international touring Nancy Hauser Dance Company.

For the first 11 years I lived here in Mountainair I had a studio [at Tohu Bohu] in the old school house on Hwy 55 - a beautiful room with hardwood floors and 3 cathedral windows with views of the Manzanos! I've been away from movement for awhile and my knees will never let me get back into it like I used to, but I'm looking forward to having some "dance" fun with whoever shows up on Saturday! Hope it's YOU!

PSA: KNME-TV5 (PBS): Mountainair / Manzano Areas - New Signal

PUBLIC TELEVISION STATION KNME's NEW DIGITAL TRANSLATOR SIGNAL

Albuquerque, NM -- Public television station KNME's (PBS) translator signal KNME (Capilla Peak) Channel 31 will be on the air September 21. This translator signal will impact Mountainair, Manzano and the surrounding communities. Your home TV signal will appear as Channels 5.1.

A translator is a low-power signal booster, which serves a specific area or rural community. KNME's standard broadcast analog signal, Channel 5, has operated in this area for many years.

When KNME-TV 5 went to Digital-only broadcast, some communities were without signal coverage. Through a grant provided by the USDA, KNME was able to fund the equipment and installation of this new Digital Translator.

As of Wednesday September 21st Mountainair and Manzano area residents, and all surrounding communities, will receive a new digital-only broadcast signal.

If a person receives their TV signal over-the-air, via an antenna, this new digital-only signal can be received if they have a digital receiver or a converter box. This is the same receiver or converter box which was needed for the national June 12, 2009 television conversion to digital broadcasting. Cable, DISH and DirecTV customers will be unaffected.

New Mexico residents within this area will have two KNME channels, which will appear as Channel 5.1 and 5.2.

daytime schedule (the standard Channel 5 you've been used to.)

--KNME 5.2 - V-Me – PBS Programming in Spanish – 24 hours/day. V-Me is the first U.S. public television broadcast network featuring the best of PBS in Spanish. V-Me is a new way to watch
